7 Website Mistakes That Cost Home Service Businesses Calls

These are the problems we see most often on contractor websites. Each one is fixable.

1. A hidden phone number

If customers have to hunt for your number, some will give up. Put it at the top of every page as a tap-to-call link.

2. A site that is slow or broken on phones

Open your site on your phone using mobile data. If it is slow or awkward, customers notice too.

3. Vague services

"We do it all" does not tell Google or customers what to call you for. Give each main service its own page.

4. No service area

Customers want to know whether you work in their town. Name the parishes and towns you really serve.

5. Stock photos and fake-looking proof

Stock photos of crews that are not yours weaken trust. Use real photos, even simple ones, and only reviews you are allowed to show.

6. A long contact form

Ask for what you need to respond: name, phone, and a short description of the job.

7. Outdated information

Old hours, a disconnected phone number, or a copyright date from years ago make a business look inactive. Check your site regularly, or consider a monthly plan that does it for you.

If several of these sound familiar, a redesign may be worth considering.
