What drives the price
- Number of pages. A 15-page site costs less to build than a 60-page site with a page for every service.
- Design. A site built around your logo and colors in a clean layout is simpler than a fully custom design with trade-specific sections.
- Content. Someone has to write the text and supply the photos. If the designer writes everything from scratch, expect that to cost extra.
- Forms and tracking. A basic contact form is simple. A quote form with job-type fields, and tracking for calls and form submissions, takes more setup.
- Local search setup. Page titles, a sitemap, structured data, and Google Business Profile work are separate tasks from design.
Costs that come after launch
The build price is not the whole picture. Ask about each of these before you sign:
- Domain registration. Usually a yearly fee paid to a registrar.
- Hosting. Some providers include it, and some charge monthly.
- Changes and maintenance. Who updates your phone number, hours, or photos, and what does it cost?
- Ongoing SEO. This is optional, and it should be priced and described separately from the website.
Three common ways to get a site
Do it yourself with a website builder. The cash cost is low, but it takes your time, and templates can limit how clearly you present your services. Hire a freelancer. Prices and quality vary widely, so ask for a written scope. Hire an agency. You typically get a defined process and support, but you should still confirm exactly what is included.
How our packages are priced
Our one-time packages are Starter at $900 for up to 15 pages, Standard at $1,500 for up to 30 pages, and Growth at $2,300 for up to 60 pages. Each one lists its revisions, setup, and handoff. Monthly plans are optional and separate. See the full package comparison and what costs extra.
Red flags when comparing quotes
- A guaranteed first-page ranking or a guaranteed number of leads
- No written scope, page limit, or revision limit
- Unclear ownership of your site or domain
- A required monthly fee with no defined deliverables
- Fake reviews or stock testimonials presented as real
Questions to ask any web designer
- How many pages and revision rounds are included?
- Do I own the site files, content, and domain?
- What setup is included for Google Search Console and my Google Business Profile?
- What costs extra?
- What happens if I need a change after launch?
